"STRESS! VIOLENCE! BURNOUT!":
WELLNESS ON CAMPUS

"Stress! Violence! Burnout!" looks at the broadening scope of issues included in Wellness Programs and the various problems that inhibit workplace productivity and increase health care costs (substance abuse, sexual harassment, violence in the workplace, etc.). This theatrical presentation combines factual information with dramatic and comedic scenes to encourage everyone on campus to use the Wellness Modules offered by their institution.

Scenes Included in the Program:

SYMPTOMATIC SHUFFLE
If someone is so depressed he is losing his hair, does Rogaine solve the problem? This scene dramatizes certain individuals who choose to cure the symptom, leaving its root cause to fester.

END OF THE LINE
One co-worker boosts a buddy's productivity by offering the "cocaine advantage". Suddenly, the company adopts a mandatory drug testing policy and the chase is on!

I DON'T WANNA WORK
Sexual Harassment on the job reduces productivity and creates a hostile environment. Frustrated by the changing roles of women and standards of acceptable behavior, this man laments that it's "taken the fun out of a man's work".

NOTHING PERSONAL
Job loss has a huge emotional impact on the individual and the immediate family. This dramatic monologue examines the mind of an individual who feels mistreated and now brings his irrational thoughts and a weapon to work with him.

INGREDIENTS
Service with a smile was enough in the past, but not in today's markets. This harried worker illustrates how willingness and renewed enthusiasm can help alleviate the daily stresses of the job.

THE KNIFE
A violent episode on campus creates Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome in this individual, clarifying the need for counseling and support in its aftermath.

IT'S ON THE RECEIPT
The character in this closing monologue recounts the uplifting results of going to the EAP for help. His narrative further illustrates the effectiveness of Wellness Modules in dealing with difficult situations.
