SLIPS, TRIPS, AND FALLS AWARENESS

One Step Beyond - Examines the second most-cited type of injury found on the job (and at home): Slips, Trips, and Falls. This program, balanced with comedic and dramatic scenes, explores the preventable series of events leading up to an accident or injury, the importance of taking a safety-first mindset home with us at the end of the day, and motivates participants to continuously improve compliance and avoid safety fatigue.

Scenes Included in the Program:

OPENING MONTAGE (Vision)
Safety begins with a vision. We insert your organization's vision of a safe work environment, and use it as a springboard for the concepts brought forth in this program.

LESSER EVILS
This employee feels that he has been asked to do twice as much with half the resources, a fact that creates a golden opportunity for safety short-cutting. This scene explores some of the reasons why an individual may place himself in a dangerous situation, even against his better judgement.

A LITTLE COOPERATION
A safety manager describes his job as creating partnerships between management and labor in order to successfully meet the organization's safety objectives. Cooperation, not conflict, is the key to success.

SYMPTOMATIC SHUFFLE
Experts tell us that each accident has a series of events leading to it that are preventable. This scene illustrates that the root causes of safety risks need to be addressed, rather than focusing on the symptom. If a motor is leaking oil, cleaning up the spill does not eliminate the hazard.

IN A HURRY
This tragically comedic scene follows a woman through a busy afternoon as she tries to finish work on time in order to be at her son's birthday party. Her objective is thwarted when she finds an open file cabinet she forgot to close.

MONTAGE II
A series of safety slogans emphasizing Slips, Trips, and Falls.

BLACK ICE
This incredibly poignant and emotional scene reiterates the importance of taking safety concepts home. A woman finds tragedy when her son is killed when she slips on black ice.

HORIZONTAL ISSUES
This series of short scenes examines right and wrong ways in dealing with common Slips, Trips, and Falls precursors: Housekeeping, Fall Protection, and Audit Workplace Behaviors.
